Intention and Inspiration

Put Your Foot In It Balm was created to relieve the constant foot pain of my mother and brother, both of whom worked in extreme and demanding conditions. Mum operated and spear-headed dog-kennels in Central Australia, while my brother worked long hours as a head chef. They were on their feet all-night or all-day, and worked long hours in hot, steamy conditions. My brother's clogs gave his feet some protection as they are strong and circulate air affectively, but my sports-crazed Mum was never out of sweaty sneakers. Her feet swelled, were moist and inflammed- she was a prime candidate for foot fungal infections. Physically demanding occupations, lifestyles and climates take their toll. My Mum and brother both needed a natural, fast-acting home-care solution: they are the characters behind the story of Put Your Foot It It Balm. 

Product strategy necessitated research into both soft-tissue pain and natural foot-care solutions. At least, I needed to create a product with both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. However, the broad healing scope of my three choice essential oils, thyme linalool, lavender and tree tree, meant that this carefully articulated balm could also be used to treat viral infections. Thyme Linalool is seldom used because it is an expensive oil: I do not cut corners when it comes to caring for my own family. Put Your Foot In It Balm is a concise, no-nonsense healer- with traction.
